Soon after Karai took over the Foot Clan and rebuilt it to be a good clan, some of Shredder's old human followers from before he had Footbots formed the DARK Foot Clan. They were outraged that Karai was rebuilding the foot to be good instead of evil, and sought to destroy both the New Foot and Hamato Clans. They used mystic powers to build extra soldiers for when they cant use human ninjas: Oragami Ninjas.

Here we see Karai, Shinigami, Jennika and a Origami Ninja Raphael created using fallen Oragami Ninja parts as a sparring partner dubbed Frankenfoot against The Dark Foot Clas's Foot Leiutenant, Foot Brute, Foot Recruti and an Origami Ninja.
