During the events of The Invasion, almost all of the humans in New York were turned into hybrid Kraang/Human abominations. The Kraang did this so that they could turn Earth into another Dimension X. In Return to New York, Kirby O'Neil and the rest of the mutant New York citizens have appeared briefly doing slave work for the Kraang as personal henchman in Dimension X
