- Screwloose in the 2012 TV series adaptation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise is the 2nd incarnation of the character to appear in animated television, after the 1987 series incarnation voiced by Townsend Coleman, 1987 Michelangelo's voice actor in the latter series.
- He is a clear parody of Robin from the Batman franchise. Most specifically he is a spoof of Burt Ward's portrayal from he 1966 show.
